Today marks a significant day for PNG as a whole. The launch of the 2050 Vision. The day began as early as 4am this morning (18/11/009) at Independence Hill with a flag raising ceremony. VIP present included Deputy Prime Minister Sir Puka Temu, Foreign Dignitaries, Departmental Heads as well as school children who also participated in this activity. The long term planning is a road map that is a guide for Papua New Guinea for the next 40 years. This strategic plan was put together over six months after much consultation with people in the Districts, and LLGs Wards. As dawn fell , the plan was carried to Parliament House for Parliament Sitting in which the PM tabled it on the floor.
The second part of the programme saw the plan brought to Sir John Guise Stadium for the official launch by the PM. Present at the occasion where the Governor General, Grand Chief Sir Paulius Matane, Deputy Prime Minister, Sir Puka Temu, NCD Governor, Hon Powes Parkop and overseas dignitaries and departmental heads and staff of each government agencies.
