2010 New Years day was welcomed with a BBQ in our yard with our neighbours. Apart from the midnight chanting and shouting in the neighbourhood, it was the quietest and peaceful celebration in the nation’s capital were everyone celebrated it in their own special way. A lot of this was attributed to the Police awareness campaign and the clamp down on illegal sale of liquor and home brew in the community before the festive season. There also were a lot of road blocks to clamp down on drink driving and accident.
