Civil Registry goes electronic



The Civil Registry Office within the Department of Community Development which was formerly known as Department of Welfare recenlty converted to electronic registering of forms for Death, Birth and Marriages. Once recieved, the lodgement is inputted into the system and registered and given a number. Upon collection the number is scanned and is pulled up for collection. This system is in line with the recently upgraded IT system that was launched by the Minister, Hon Dame Carol Kidu two months ago.

    It would be good if you could download the forms online. It would save the hassle of having to go to Waigani in the first place

    Online registration is still a long way away. You cannot register online. Its just the front desk registration that is electronic. YOu still need to physically go to Waigani to fill in the forms manually...

    hi,
    it is good to see that most of our government departments are keeping inline with the changing world but i would still prefer all to be online, i know its a slow process but we'll soon get there.

    This is good news, and I am sure will continue to improve within short timeframes as IT systems grow; so I wanted to ask if, particularly lists of deceased, are available to the electoral commission to help them maintain updated voter lists?

    We lost the original marriage certificate and I asked my sister in Australia to get a copy of my marriage certificate three weeks ago. To date we haven't receive the certified copy. It is urgent because it will be submitted to the National Visa Center in US. How many days after payment has been forwarded for the registry office to process the said request?
